The Bone Grin | Gothic Jawbone Brooch

A grin from beyond the grave.

The Bone Grin is a sinister gothic brooch featuring a sculpted jawbone surrounded by an elaborate baroque-inspired frame of roses, foliage and ornate scrollwork.

The deep black finish gives the jawbone a dark, skeletal appearance, while hand-applied silver dry brushing picks out the raised details of the ornate frame.

Inspired by the elaborate forms of Victorian mourning jewellery and antique memorial pieces, this brooch takes the elegant language of traditional mourning jewellery and twists it into something considerably more macabre.

Designed, resin printed and hand painted by Dead Quiet Studio, every piece is individually finished by hand. The combination of glossy black relief and silver detailing gives it the character of an unusual antique gothic relic.
